The Social Network, See It To Believe It

With the release of the movie The Social Network, the networking site Facebook jumps off of the computer screen and onto the big screen. The Social Network debuted with much fanfare, as the entertainment giant sought to make a buck off the latest social networking craze.

In The Social Network, Director David Fincher walks a fine line between villainizing Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg (played by Jesse Eisenberg) and conveying the history of Facebook accurately. I’m sure they wouldn’t want to have to deal with Facebook in the courtroom. Even so, I heard Facebook has spurned the movie and CEO Zuckerburg refuses to see it.

Could portraying Zuckerburg as a villain have any negative effect on the social-networking giant’s popularity? Doubtful, very doubtful.
