Galifianakis Protests A Protest

Did he really get Mel fired?
Actor Zach Galifianakis stopped by the “Today Show” to promote his upcoming comedy Due Date directed by Todd Phillips. He was then asked about his other comedy in the works with Phillips, The Hangover 2. It has been alleged that Galifianakis had a role in the firing of Mel Gibson from making a cameo appearance in the new sequel.

Galifianakis said in a radio interview recently that he “was in a deep protest” about a movie he was working on. Everyone assumed that it was The Hangover 2, and then news of Gibson being fired surfaced. Galifianakis denied any involvement in the casting of his films and shifted the topic to another Gibson - Debbie Gibson.
It has been rumored that with Gibson’s departure, Liam Neeson has stepped in to play a tattoo artist in the film.
